About TED & TEDx
TED is a non-profit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader.
TEDx is a grassroots initiative, created in the spirit of TED’s mission to research and discover ‘ideas worth spreading.’ TEDx brings the spirit of TED to local communities around the globe through TEDx events. They are organised by passionate individuals who seek to uncover new ideas and share the latest research that spark conversations in their communities. TEDx events include live speakers and recorded TED Talks, and are organised independently under a free licence granted by TED.

Hosted at Swami Vivekanand Institute of Engineering & Technology, Chandigarh. Rooted in TED’s global mission of “Ideas Worth Spreading,” our platform brings together thinkers, creators, disruptors, and storytellers who believe in the power of a single idea to create lasting change.
Our 2025 edition revolves around the theme: “The Power of One” a celebration of the impact one person, one decision, or one story can have on the world. With a limited in-person audience of 100 and a global digital reach through our speakers and TEDx’s official channels, TEDxSVIET is not just an event it’s a launchpad for inspiration, introspection, and action.
